Launching in mid-June 2020, the first International Children’s Picture Book Award has received wide attention and submissions from authors and illustrators from many parts of the world.
All submissions were considered thoroughly and comprehensively. With the theme “Celebrating Childhood Dream”, the awards have been given to those works that can spark childhood dreams, empowering kids and even adults to dream and live their dreams.
With the 2020 International Children’s Picture Books Award, the category of Best Picture Book has yet to find its winner. The other categories have found the titles that they deserve.

BEST STORY AWARD: THE GOLDEN HEART Written and illustrated by Nguyen Ngoc Bich The Golden Heart has a familiar opening of an old tale, but it will surprise all readers with its unexpected and amusing events along with its unique illustrations. Though set in a dark underground kingdom, the whole book is bright with light and hope, not only catching the eyes of the readers at first sight but also lingering long in their minds. | |
BEST ILLUSTRATIONS AWARD: DIN Written and illustrated by Nguyen Thuy Tien Din totally captures the theme “Celebrating Childhood Dreams” with its illustrations. Through very meticulous and eye-catching drawings, Din has brought readers a feast for the eyes and the soul, leading them into a wonderland of dreams, hope, and faith. Readers will be invited to discover the various possibilities not only in the story but also in their life journey. |
